- Add a New Virtual Fax User
As your company’s administrator, you can use the Virtual Fax admin portal to create new Virtual Fax user accounts. Each user requires a unique email address (for username and fax routing) and can be associated with a single Virtual Fax line/phone number. (Contact TPx if you need more Virtual Fax lines/phone numbers assigned for use in Virtual Fax.)
NOTE: The instructions on this page allow you to create a single user. Visit Import a List of Virtual Fax Users for instructions on how to bulk upload a list of new users with a CSV file.
Log in to the admin portal at https://fax.tpx.net/faxadmin, then click Internal Users on the left menu.
On the Internal Users menu, click Add. The User Properties page opens.
Enter the following information for the new user, then click OK to save. Click Cancel to exit without saving.
Field Name | Required? | Description |
SMTP Address | Yes | The user’s email address. Virtual Fax uses this as a unique ID for the user. |
Profile Name | Yes | The profile that will be assigned to this user. The following options are available:
|
NT Account | No | TPx does not support this option. |
Password | Yes | By default, Auto-generate a password is selected. If you prefer, select Use this password and manually enter a password for the user in the Password and Confirm Password fields.
Send the password by email is enabled by default. User must change password at next logon is enabled by default. This forces the user to change their password through the Virtual Fax web client. The user will not be able to use the web client until the password is changed. |
Time Zone | No | This time zone is used for the time stamps on sent faxes (on the fax cover sheet and the fax header) and email notifications for inbound faxes (on the fax notification banner and within the body of the email). |
Personal Information (second tab) | No | The user’s personal contact information, including first and last name, title, and phone number.
This information is used to populate fax cover sheets. It can also be used for inbound routing: by default, the Virtual Fax service will attempt to match inbound faxes against the “Fax” number for each user. |
