TPx has some amazing employees that are dedicated and passionate about the work they do. Each month, we highlight one employee within the organization. After all, it’s our employees that power our business forward.
Today we would like to highlight Terry Chen, VP, Corporate Finance at TPx in our monthly employee spotlight. Terry joined the TPx team a little more than a year ago. We sat down with him to talk about his time at TPx and some of his passions outside the office. Read on to learn more about Terry.
What led you into your current role?
I’ve worked the majority of my work life in public accounting with the longest stint at PwC. When this role at TPx came up, I was hesitant, but when I met Brent, Johann, Clarance, and Mukesh in the Finance department, I knew that these were the types of people that I want to work with.
What brings you the greatest satisfaction in the work you do?
The people here at TPx are great. We know we have big boulders to lift and projects that seem, at times, insurmountable, but the people here all have the know-how and the elbow-grease to get it done, and that excites me.
What career advice would you give your younger self?
It’s okay to ask questions and say “I don’t know.” No one wants to look uninformed, but you’re never going to learn unless you ask.
Outside of work, what are your hobbies and favorite things to do?
I enjoy spending time with my family. I’m also on a bike a lot, but it’s mostly so I can go have tacos and beer afterwards.
What’s your favorite taco?
While not a taco, I do love Taco Bell’s Beefy Crunch Burrito. Taco Bell needs to bring it back.
